As I was spending my prayer time, I received a text message about something I thought God should think was important. Someone is working on something VERY important for me - doing me a huge favor, and I didn't want to keep them waiting. So as I was praying I responded back... and boom...
preface: i'm gonna say OUR cause I KNOW i'm not the only one! LOL
When did our relationship with God become so casual? When did we as worshippers get to the place where the King of Glory, the Creator of it all has to wait a second for a text message? Or a phone call? Or our favorite reality show? or SLEEP!?!?! Or just wait... because --- well - of nothing...
selah...
I was going to write a blog today about waiting... LOL - but I guess the Lord was saying, making HIM wait, not making US wait... HAHAHA! God is so funny to me... **i digress**
any-ol- whoo...
so yes... What is it that we casually put God off for?
Psalms 42:1 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.
I love NatGeo Wild... Love watching Lions in action... sometimes the lions chase gazelle and deer, and they (gazelle and deer) have been designed to out pace the Lion, but thats only if they are aware and are strong enough to escape the attack. But imagine that deer, just escaped an attack ((probably wasn't his first one)) and finally arriving to the water to take a drink. panting... tired... a little afraid... heart racing...
Thats how we as worshippers are supposed to pant (to long for with breathless or intense eagerness)) after the Lord. How many lions have been chasing you? Lying in wait for the pounce. You know they travel in packs... selah...
I challenge you, as I have been challenged today... Don't make God wait today. If its your time with Him, then making it only His time. If you have already started a busy day, and haven't given Him His time - I think He deserves a little of your attention. He only keeps you breathing, safe, provided for among a number of other things.. your mind, your emotions, your peace, your faith... yeah... He's awesome... Truly no one like our God. He wants relationship, and it takes quality time to build a relationship... Our relationship with our computer, TV, and phone has been well established... They won't miss you...
Be Blessed! And Keep the King first...
